There were so many elements that made this wedding rock, I'm not even sure where to start! I was so excited when Ashley & Courtney invited us to be a part of their day; they were absolutely fabulous to work with and I'm so in love with all of the personal touches they incorporated into their wedding. I think, overall though, the best part was photographing them getting ready together. That was a first for us, and it was such an easy-going take on what is usually the most stressful part of the day. It was incredibly sweet to see them spend their entire wedding day together and get to have moments that are usually missed, like Ashley doing Courtney's hair and pinning on her boutonniere. They had an evening ceremony, so we started their photos in the afternoon, and even though it was freezing, cloudy and windy, they totally rocked it out ;) We hopped all around Buffalo for pictures in fun, fresh spots (none of the traditional stuff; not for these two!) before heading over to The Tralf for sweet ceremony and wild party (which included a baked potato bar & Paula's Donuts, aka HEAVEN, sandwiched around some pretty fabulous dancing). I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed capturing them!
Ashley is from Buffalo, and Courtney from Long Island, and Ashley's sister, the incredible designer behind Anchored by Design, showcased that bit of their love story in their invitations!
Courtney is a true romantic, and dug this brick up when they redid a part of their front yard. She saved it, and had it engraved for Ashley for their wedding day. Is that not the cutest?
Their outfits were perfect together; Ashley was stunning in her gown and Courtney's custom suit from Bureau was stellar! They do incredible work, and I'm always a fan of their signature custom stitching!
Ashley is a hair stylist herself so wanted a pro for her big day; we love that she enlisted our good friend Elizabeth Dugan for the job!
I just adore these moments!
After all the prep, we embarked on our Buffalo adventures :) You can't even tell they are being blown away by bitter WNY winds here! Thanks for sticking it out with us!
After photos, we headed over to The Tralf for their ceremony & party! If you haven't been there before, it's a super cool music venue right downtown. Chic, lovely and DARK (black ceilings, floors and walls), but we were well prepped with plenty of gear to light the place up for the evening! It made their first-dance photographs especially dramatic, and I love the results! You'll see what I mean :)
Another incredibly cute moment was when they danced with their dads, and halfway through, switched & shared a moment with their new fathers-in-law. So sweet!
A&C, we had an absolute blast with you two & loved being a part of your story! Thank you again for everything (especially that tasty bottle of wine you greeted us with!!) Xoxo!
