Internship Available

City Lights is now accepting applications for a winter intern! If interested, please send your resume, portfolio of your work (if you have samples online) and a description of why you're interested, what you'd like to get out of the internship & what your skill-set is (photographic & office management, etc.,) to Erica at info@city-lights-studio.com

Only requirements are that you are willing to commit to a three-month long unpaid internship, minimum of 5 hours a week, and would like to learn the front & back of a photo business & be involved with the Buffalo arts scene ... oh and you have to be FUN to hang out with :)

Thankful to be a Local

One of the many reasons I LOVE this city is that there's a plethora of artisans, merchants, boutiques and quaint shopping districts who not only make shopping for unique gifts easy, but also a very fun & enjoyable experience (the polar opposite of the malls this season!)

As a board member of Buffalo First! and small business owner myself, I encourage everyone to skip the chaos & stampedes this Black Friday and instead, sleep in, relax and when you're ready, grab your family & friends and head to one of our many shopping districts for a cup of coffee and a fun, slow-paced day of gift-buying. I personally am starting my morning at the Elmwood Village Black Friday Boutique Crawl, which each shop is offering a special and you can check out the deals here!

10.15 | Rochelle & Kevin Wedding

Even though we had one of the biggest bridal parties ever, and one of the windiest, rainiest wedding days, Rochelle & Kevin were so much fun to work with & we had a blast! Drew Zinck shot this wedding with me & helped to grab some gorgeous shots of this cute couple :) After grabbing some getting-ready photos, we headed to Elma for an entertaining ceremony, including a priest who pulled out a stuffed chicken & played 'The Chicken Dance' song the whole way through haha. We trucked up to City Hall to try to grab some shots on the stairs BUT the entire area was filled with Occupy Buffalo protesters and became a complete wind tunnel which blew my scarf right off when I stepped out of the car.... I knew it was NOT going to work haha. Luckily Rochelle & Kevin had a contact at the Statler, which was warm & wind free :) After photos there, we headed to Samuel's Grand Manor for a BIG reception! It was the first wedding I've ever shot where the guests rushed the dance floor before dinner was even over & the floor stayed packed until the very end haha. It was a wild time & we had a blast; thanks R&K!
